KS Plus (also called super sulfur potash)

KS Plus (also called super sulfur potash)

  • 50 lb. bag
  • Recommended method of application: Drop spreader, or some broadcast spreaders
  • Material: Coarse powder

  • Potassium Sulfate Plus (KS Plus) is a natural, mined mineral that contains high levels of Potassium, Sulfur, Calcium, and trace elements.  It is excellent at bringing energy into the soil system and massively increases biological activity in soil.  Because it is a naturally mined product, levels of the various minerals can vary depending on the particular "batch."  The level of elemental sulfur ranges from 3-35% mostly because of the activity of the bacteria naturally present that oxidizes the sulfur.  Sulfate forms range from 10-70%.  There are many different oxidative states of sulfur in this product at any given time and this encourages a wider range of microbiology.  Also present in the material is 5-35% calcium sulfate in a readily available form (much more than mined gypsum).  Potassium is present (2.5-8.5%) in potassium sulfate as well as potassium silicate forms (potassium silicate has been shown to be a great source of available silica).
  • When KS Plus is mixed with compost and manure, it can convert volatile ammonia into ammonium sulfate, which is an excellent nitrogen source, and dramatically reduce odor and nitrogen losses.
  • Apply 100-500 lbs per acre (assuming you need the sulfur and potassium), with smaller maintenance applications thereafter.
  • Always check with your organic certifier before using any product.
